On a new industrial estate in Ommen, a veterinarian is starting a new practice.
In the initial phase, part of the practice will be arranged as a home for the veterinarian’s family. At a later stage, this residential part can be converted to expand the practice.
The client's primary requirement was to create a clinic that does not feel sterile. This is particularly visible in the use of elements typically found in a more domestic setting, such as lighting, wall finishes, and furniture.
The building’s concept is based on the circle of life and death. All spaces are arranged around a central patio. In this patio stands a large tree symbolising ‘life’.
Visitors can walk in a circular route around the tree, offering hope or comfort and representing the cycles of nature.
